How to install:
- Find and mount the PageSender disk image file (.dmg)
- If you're using Safari with "Open 'safe' files after downloading" turned ON in Safari Preferences, the PageSender disk image file will mount automatically.
- If you're using Safari with "Open 'safe' files after downloading" turned OFF in Safari Preferences, you'll find the PageSender .dmg file in your Downloads folder (under Leopard) or on your Desktop (under Tiger). Double-click it to mount the PageSender disk image.
- If you are using another browser, you'll need to locate the PageSender .dmg file. It may be in your Downloads folder (under Leopard), on your Desktop or in another location, depending on what is specified in your browser's preferences. Once you locate the .dmg file, double-click it to mount the PageSender disk image.
- Click "Agree" to agree to the terms of use.
- Drag the PageSender application into your Applications folders, as indicated.
- Launch PageSender 4.x and click "Install" to complete the installation.
The first time you open PageSender Fax Center (in your Applications folder), two printer drivers are added automatically to the Printer Setup Utility on your computer:
PageSender-Fax, for faxing
PageSender-Email, for emailing as a PDF.
If they are not added automatically, or if you remove them, you will need to re-add them using the Printer Setup Utility (located in the Utilities folder in your Applications folder).
How to upgrade from PageSender 3.X or earlier:
- Download and install PageSender 4.x, following the steps above.
- Choose "Purchase / Register / Upgrade ..." from the PageSender Fax Center menu.
- If you purchased PageSender after January 1, 2007, click "Continue". Otherwise, click "Cancel."
- Click on the "Buy" button. You'll be taken to a shopping cart. Follow the instructions for entering your information and checking out.
- Return to "Purchase / Register / Upgrade..." When asked to choose Demo/Upgrade or Purchase, choose Demo/Upgrade. Your registration information will be retained. The Purchase button is only for new purchases.
Upgrading Tip: If you have trouble replacing your old PageSender Fax Center, just move it from the Applications folder to the Desktop then restart after you install the new PageSender Fax Center application. You can trash the copy of PageSender Fax Center on your Desktop once your new install is completed and working. Be sure to quit and relaunch any open applications before faxing from them.
